Course Overview
THIS COULD BE YOU!!! Have you seen other people with a killer Excel skillset? How would you like to become an Excel or Access Master and leave those people in the dust? The ClineSys system develops OUTSTANDING Microsoft Office Excel® and Microsoft Office Access® skills for non-programmers. It is written for accounting and financial professionals, but anyone with experience in business can benefit from the knowledge taught herein. The course is divided into two books, Excel and Access and SQL. The system is designed to teach simple concepts and build on those concepts to much more complex material. By the end of the course, you will be able to use functions and procedures in Excel that you hadn't dreamed possible. Did you know that you can connect to a database that has millions records and work with it in Excel just like it was 20? How would you like to set up an Excel file to connect to a SQL Server or Oracle database and extract data based on parameters specified on the spreadsheet? You will also learn how to create and maintain relational databases using Access. You start the Access course by learning the basics (Tables, Queries, Forms, and Reports), then progress to more advanced topics, like Advanced Reporting and SQL.
Taking a ClineSys Course
Once you purchase a course, you will receive an email within a few minutes that contains instructions on how to begin the course. In that email, you will receive a username and password that you use to sign in and download PDF files of the course material and the practice files used in each chapter. As you work through each chapter, you will complete hundreds of examples and exercises. After you finish the material in each chapter, you will be directed to the review questions or to take an exam at the end of each chapter to test your knowledge on the concepts learned. The exams are all in a multiple choice format. Once you complete all examinations for Excel (there are 18 chapters and exams for Excel 2003 and 2007), you will receive a certificate as a ClineSys Excel Master. Upon completion of the Access course (there are 12 chapters in the Access 2003 course and 15 chapters in the Access 2007 course), you will be certified as a ClineSys Access Master. Upon completing both courses, you will receive a certificate as a Reporting and Analysis Master. If you have a version of MS Office earlier than 2003, not to worry. The Excel and Access 2003 course material applies very well to earlier versions. For the Access 2003 course, we recommend you have at least version 2000 installed. For the Excel and Access 2007 courses, you must have Office 2007 installed.Let there be no mistake. A ClineSys course is not easy -- in fact, it's plain hard! Our concept is that anyone can learn the easy things, but the people that have exceptional skill sets are the ones that will shine. And to get such an exceptional skill set takes work -- a lot of work and study. We're not going to tell you that this course is so easy that a sixth grader can do it. They can't, and employers don't want to hire sixth graders. Employers want people with skills, and that is what sets our course apart from the rest. Take a look at the testimonials at the top of this page to see what some of our graduates have to say about it. We've designed the courses that way as to give phenominal skills, not just ordinary skills. About a third of the people who sign up for the course never complete it -- they just give up. DON'T DO THAT!!! Keep plugging away at the course and study those concepts that are hard to learn. When you finish, you'll have a skillset that is practically non-existant in the market today.
Test Your Skills
Still not convinced you need the course? Why don't you click on the Free Excel Test link and find out? This is a test that measures your Excel 2003 skills against the ClineSys standard (which is a high standard). The test contains Beginner (basic Excel skills), Intermediate (writing formulas and using functions), and Advanced (PivotTables, graphs, analysis tools, macros, etc.) levels. The test contains 30 multiple choice questions. If you score 80% or above on our test, you may not need our course. Some clients use this test to evaluate the Excel skills of potential new hires. If you learn some things there, you will undoubtedly bump your Excel skill level up a few notches by taking our course.
